Skin packaging, also known as skin boarding, is a common packaging process. During the sealing process, packaged items are laid on top of a board and covered with a plastic film.
The Starview SP Series is top of the line. Here’s how it works.
The film is heated and air is vacuumed out leaving a tight seal between the film and its backing. The tight seal secures the packaged items and prevents it from being damaged during shipping.
After the skin process, the backing can be cut to a specific shape. Often with skin packaging, a hole is usually added to the backing so it can hang from a hook.
Pyramid Packaging offers a variety of SP and die cutting equipment for low-to-high volume applications. It seals products between a top layer of heated plastic and a bottom layer of adhesive-coated card stock. This makes it a very useful and versatile process to use across a variety of applications.
Pyramid Packaging is a Chicagoland value-added reseller of the Starview Skin Packaging Machines.
